Simplified Issue*
  • $5,000 - $30,000
  • Only 4 Health Questions
  • No medical exam

* If death occurs within the first two years of the policy’s effective date (the contestability period), Western Life will conduct a medical record investigation

Guarantee Issue
  • $10,000
  • No medical questions or exam
  • Accidental death before the age of 85, coverage amount doubles
  • If death other than accidental occurs within the first two years, benefit payable is limited to refund of premiums
Money in as little as 2 days*

The proceeds of your life insurance policy may be paid to your beneficiary in as little as two business days after death. The money may then be used to pay funeral or cremation costs or any other expenses.

Note: Some insurance policies contain a 2-year contestability period, which may prevent the insurance payout from being expedited.

What is the Difference between Whole Life Insurance and Term Life Insurance?

  • Whole Life Insurance is “permanent” life insurance with a premium that never increases, regardless of advancing age or declining health.
    • Whole Life accumulates cash value over time, with a table of cash value amounts contained in your policy document. For this reason, Whole Life premiums are initially higher than Term Life premiums, but in the long run, Whole Life can be much more affordable than Term Life. As long as you pay your Whole Life premiums, your beneficiaries will receive the policy’s full death benefit ‎regardless of how old you are when you die.
  • Term Life Insurance offers a fixed monthly premium for a specific number of years of coverage (e.g. 10 years or 20 years), with the premium increasing in price at each renewal. Term life policies can be referred to as “temporary” life insurance.
    • With Term Life, there is the risk that your renewal premiums will be unaffordable, or that you will reach the maximum policy age and not be eligible to renew your coverage.
  • With Whole Life, you are sharing the risk with the insurance company from the beginning. Your risk is that you will live a long time and pay more premiums than the face value of the policy. The insurance company’s risk is that you will die years before paying premiums equal to the face value of the policy.
